How much notice do you guys need to be able to run a full-length GPL race?
Most people prefer Sundays 9amEST.

Given different timezones, internet habits and propagation of newsgroup
messages I'd say 72hours at the very least. If you want people to actually
practise make it a week.

Timeframe suits me fine.

Jan./having a heck of a time adjusting to my new throttle pot.

2 or 3 days for the race will be fine, so we can practice .
The time is good,

Was wondering to myself if being within 107% at all tracks would qualify
to
compete on vroc without getting in others way.otherwise is there a guide to
the
consistent lap times i should be running before trying an online race?i
realize each track is different. I just realized that i only need to go to the
track in multiplayer and check the laptime of the drivers practising there.
DOH! YOUR GETTING VERY SSLLEEPPYY. You will forget everything you just read,
and who the poster was.

There is no real qualification needed to race on VROC, IMO, other than to
respect your fellow competitor, regardless of relative speed. Refer anyone
dissing you for your speed to me and I'll give 'm a verbal pasting they
won't forget.<g>

If you can cut a consistent line around the track you're racing on I'd say
you're bound to do well regardless in pick-up racing.

For fear of sounding elitist, online GP's are another matter. Only people
who truly understand the medium (I.e. people with a couple of years' worth
of online league racing behind them) should apply there, IMO.

Jan./if can't fix the *touchyness* with this new pot... put me down for a no
show.

I was thinking I'd give at LEAST 2 weeks notice.  I wasn't sure how those of
you with wives and kids could re-arrange your schedules...<g>

2 weeks works for me. 72 hours would make it a very iffy situation. I
only have one wife though, but also two small boys who like to see
Daddy during the weekends.

Got a point there... being single I overlooked that particular pitfall,
obviously.

Practise ?????  isn't that considered cheating ?
72 hours is fine by me, I'll drive at any time of day... just one of the
great things about selfemployment ;)
