Question about Monaco GP Racing

by Cossi » Wed, 21 Oct 1998 04:00:00

I downloaded the MGPR demo couple days ago, it was very impressive, but I just
got couple stupid questions that some experts might be able to answer

1. Compare to GP2, track seems to be a lot more narrow, is that what the real
Monaco track looks like?

2. What's the proper way to take off the grid without the clutch??

3. I have so much trouble to prevent gear spins in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. Is
it me, the setups, the game or something else?

4. Do they have real cars and drivers in the real version

Dunno

I don't know what is proper, but I hold the throttle about mid way down - and when
the green light goes go into 1st ease the throttle down onto 2nd etc. Seems to
work ok.

Practice. You can't just bury the throttle you have to ease it down especially on
corners.

Drivers you have to enter (there's an edit name feature). Paint jobs and logos you
have to download from the net (or draw your own). There's a utility that comes
with the full version for incorporating graphics. Lee Keane has done some here

Comparing it with TV-footage and photographs I'm inclined to say MGPRS-2 and
for that matter F1RS do a better Monaco than GP-2. Especially MGPRS2 which
gives you an incredible sensation of speed.

What'd you think? Go easy!

People complaing MGPRS2 only has NONE or FULL-power are talking shit. I can
easily let the revs build up nicely and get away without any skidding.

It's you + the setups. If you frequently experience skidding in 1st and 2nd,
you should think about setting longer 1st and 2nd. 3rd shouldn't be a
regular skidding experience.

People skidding in 5th don't understand a gearbox...

No.

No big problem, just get full carsets, logos, track-updates and what else
