GPL GP reminder and a race question

Ok, we're running at Indy on Sunday, May 27th at 9amEST.  The question is:
would it be better to leave the race open, and enable Shift-r, or make it
passworded with realistic damage(no shift-r)?  I think it would be crazy to run
an open GP race(at Indy, anyway) with no shift-r available...(general carnage
and destruction).
Any thoughts?
