BIG N3 problem... HELP

by Dan Belch » Sun, 27 Feb 2000 04:00:00

Ok, for about two weeks now, I've had the most ungodly annyoing problem with
NASCAR 3.  I can't use the in-car view!  I recieve an error on the 3DFXDLL.DLL
file and the game crashes when I try to switch to it.  This is VERY annyoing.
It happens with and without the beta patch.  I tried reinstalling, but it was
of no use.  And while I'm on the subject, SCGT crashes when I try to start
driving, Midtown Madness crashes if I touch the keyboard, and CART Precision
Racing crashes when I drive at Gustavo's Daytona track
(http://www.racesimcentral.net/).

Gateway PII 400mhz
64mb RAM
10 gig h/d
32X CD ROM (ha!  What a joke!  It's slower than my old 4X CD ROM on my old
puter!)
Voodoo2 12mb 3DFX graphics card

Any ideas?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Then reinstall DirectX7. If that doesn't work, remove your 3dfx card
with the device manager, and start over with the drivers that game
with your card. Then update to the latest reference drivers from
www.3dfx.com. I have found that 2.53 drivers are by far the most
stable. If you want I can email them to you. It ia bout 1.4MB.
