>Greg, do you have "Burnout"? I dont because of the no***pit thing but

No I don't have burnout yet. I keep foloowing these threads hoping
that something will spark my intrest. So far the 2 things I don't like
are 1) no***pit view 2) bracket racing (YUCK).

If you can do a regular FC or TF meet I might give it a go. I
really like how you can apparently "build" your own car. Will
the NHRA sim have this amount of tweaking?

Sounds good...

Greg,
You're not limited to "bracket racing". Burnout has a Heads-up class which
is the fastest car wins, no bracket (with the usual DQ's of course). As far
as your second concern goes, let me just say we are working on it :)

Burnout also models the traction on all four tires which changes due to
suspension, body setup, aerodynamics, temperature, track conditions, groove
location, and many others. The tire model itself is customizable. You can
change the tires peak, the shape of the "curve" along with the usual value
like pressure and camber (you can adjust lateral and longitudinal curves
seperately). It's very interesting to play around with. Oh, and yes the tire
does distort and grow both in the math and visually.

Brent, to tired to run it tonight but, I finally read the manual! And it
got me thinking about a couple of things I missed. 4's and 300 will be
possible. The key to running the big numbers and being consistent
aren't the obvious things. As far as the ***ing about***pit or no
***pit I've been enjoying it too much to care at this point. I would
rather tweak and find out what really makes a car work then seeing a
cheesy looking dash. Everyone ***ed about N2's***pit being
horrible, but its closer to realistic than not and it still is aggravating
for me.
By the way Burnout Pro and Desk Top Dyno might be next on my
list. I'll buy the NHRA sanctioned one as well but if they treat us sim.
drivers
the way they treat real life drivers it could be a rip off!

Does anyone know when the Tantrum sim is going to be released.

With any luck this means some type of patch before version 2. I
really hate the outside views for actual driving. I feel like I need to
plop coins into a slot or something :-) Anyway, thanks for answering
my other Q's. I'm fairly sure I'll give it a try.
