Nascar 3 Profile for Logitech Extreme FF Wheel

Does anyone have a working profile for Nascar 3 with the Logitech FF wheel?
I have tried several options and can get none to work.  I am using Direct X
7 and have the USB Logitech wheel and a USB Logitech gamepad connected to my
system, but the wheel is the default controller.  This is perplexing as it
seems to be a pretty straightforward to get a profile to work.  Please help
before I pull out one of the remaining five hairs I have.
