I have resorted to installing the drivers when I want to use the gamepad and
uninstalling them when I want
to use GPL. That kinda stinks.

I play GPL on my computer with an Xterminator. I run Windows 98 and although
I have twitchy steering, the game loads ok.
My brother can NOT get GPL to work with his Xterminator. He runs Windows 95
(which is the main difference between our 2 comps) and it crashes out back
to Windows as soon as the opening menu screen pops up with the following
message :-

If he disconnects the Xterminator then GPL will load ok. If he connects a
standard joystick then GPL loads ok. This puts the problem firmly in the
area of the Xterminator gamepad and he's tried all sorts of things.
Directx5, 6, 6.1 beta, new soundcard drivers, new Gravis drivers, blah di
blah but GPL won't load at all.
So Kelvin, yes, I have seen this problem, but I don't have an answer. I too
would be interested in any suggestions as I don't think my brother can take
much more of me telling him just how good GPL is !

For the record I am glad to hear that there is going to be a patch.
But, now I know r.a.s will be flooded with demands for what "must" be in
the patch and for a "solid" release date. . .

I buy a lot of games each year and GPL is the first in a very long
time that I really don't need a patch for. LIKE one, yes but no I
don't need no stinking patches.
