Anyone solved this problem yet?

I've tried every version of directx, clean installs of win 95 and 98, every
version of drivers from both diamond and 3dfx.

Anyone have any more ideas?

I had the same problem.  I found out that it is due to the card overheating.
In the display box in the control panel you need to change the cards mhz
setting from the default 92 down to 90.

This worked for me anyway.

Same here. If I use SET SSTV2_GRXCLK=95, usually GPL locks up (sounds can
still be heard) in a couple of minutes. If I set GRXCLK to 92, I can run it
for hours.

Absolutely. It's also worth noting that the cards differ and CHANGE! I have
a Monster 2 which, when new, would lock up at anything over 95. It now can
live with 98/99. OTOH, I've a pair of generic 12Mb V2s which will run only
at 92 or less. Experiment!
