NFS:PU player file corrupted - help!!

by James Harmo » Wed, 05 Apr 2000 04:00:00

Hi All,

I play this game with a Logitech FF wheel.  Normally I set the wheel up for
combined pedals, because most games only work this way except for GPL.
Anyway I decided to try it with uncombined pedals.  I got past the titile
screen and clicked on my player profile and then everything locked up.  I
had to restart my computer.  Of course I went back to combined pedals, but
every time I try to load in my profile, the game locks up.  Creating a new
player seemed to solve the problem so I would assume that my player profile
is corrupted somehow.  Well, I'm pretty deep into this game and I really
don't want to start over - the thought of racing those 356's again sickens
me.  Is their anyway to fix this?

Thanks in Advance,

J

[This followup was posted to rec.autos.simulators and a copy was sent to

Just wanted to let you know... It wasn't moving from combined to
seperate, and back again...

I use a LFFW as well... I have never changed my settings... Just
fininshed the classic era( even won the spiffy white 50's racing series
porsche ), and after a reboot... I can no longer access my player
profile.

I get the same behavior... just crashes to the desktop!!!

I can add a new player, and he works fine... but who the heck wants to
redo all this...  I might even be willing to redo it... but what if it
happens again!!!

Arrrrghhh... File Corruption... I sure hope EA can patch this such that
we get our profiles back.

Sharing your misery,

bdarian

PS - They Better Fix it Fast... This is the most fun I have had with a
racing game since GPL!!!  NFS:PU is excellent( just give me back my
player profiles!!! )
