Help! Corrupt Player Profiles?

by Bruce Darian Weav » Wed, 12 Apr 2000 04:00:00

Help Please...

I just fininshed the classic era( even won the spiffy white 50's racing
series Porsche ), and after a reboot... I can no longer access my player
profile.  I have tried it for two days now... with various warm/cold boot
attempts.  I am playing the full licensed version, and never used the
warez/cracked versions... just the demo...

Each time I select my player profile, and press continue... the game just
crashes to the desktop!!!  I know it is not a graphics driver issue( I
think ) cause I played it for 3-4 days before this problem occured...

I can add a new player, and he works fine... but who the heck wants to
redo all this...  I might even be willing to redo it... but what if it
happens again!!!

Is anyone else having this problem...

I have contacted EA... but no response( other than the requisite Common
Prollem FAQ )...

Thanx...

I have the exact same problem here. My only advice is restart from the
beginning and backup your Profiles each time you finish 2 or 3 tracks. The
only file you need to backup is a folder called SaveData in your NFS: PU
directory. In the event your profile is corrupted again, just remove your
current SaveData folder, and copy the most recent good working copy from
your backup to the NFS directory. This will restore all your records
including the replay, if any.

Thanx all... it's nice to know I am not alone...

I have taken the advice of "just starting over", and "backing up the
SaveGame folder every 2-3 races"...

It's ok... I don't mind doing it... but it is a pretty *** bug to slip
through QA( don't ya think )?

I just hope that I can once again run a good race to win that spiffy
white Porsche just after completing the classic age( what was it the
series number? )

Thanx for your input...
