Starting N2 from DOS

Starting N2 from DOS

From what I understand, N2 runs better when run straight from DOS.
When I try to do this, however, I keep getting error messages saying
that my mouse driver isn't loaded.
Anyone know how to load the mouse driver while in DOS?  BTW, it's a
133MHz running W95.

Also, if there's anyone in the Denton, Texas area who wouldn't mind
swapping some paint with a relitive newcomer, let me know.

Later, Jeff

depends on who put your computer together,,,,,sometimes you can just
type " Mouse "
at the prompt....otherwise,,,,you need to know the name of the mouse
driver program
and either type it in at the dos prompt (gets to be old) or include it
in your autoexec
file...for instance,,,, a partial of my autoexec.....

PROMPT $p$g
PATH C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\DOS
SET TEMP=C:\DOS
PATH  %PATH%;C:
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4
CD C:\OPL3SA
CD \
--where felmouse.com is what inits the mouse on my puter,,,,,yours will
vary...
hope this helps,,,

Not to bring bad tidings for you Jeffery King, but I would
imagine that if the shop you bought your computer from didn't
bother to even set up the mouse for DOS, I would say that they
didn't bother setting up your sound card and CD Rom  either.
If you don't have on disk the drivers for these items then I
would susgest you get them from the supplier of your machine.

Don't let them tell you it dosn't have DOS on it. If its got
WIN 95 it's got DOS (un-official Ver 7). You can even boot
directly into DOS at Boot-up. (Press F8 key when the message
"Windows 95 is starting" appears.

^5 for the cover, Nigel,,,,I didnt think of that it was too late...
I've seen a lot of
(especially win95) puters set up to run in the main OS while neglecting
good ole DOS...
guess that's the benefits of learning to build yer own... LOL
