The subject pretty much says it all what do you change in order to take
off the restrictor plates. Also is there some text files somewhere which
explains what the various settings in the track text files mean?
I'd appreciate someone emailing me and letting me know.

go into dos type cd\nascar\tracks\taladega then type edit taladega.txt
look down to i think the third line. i think i says spwy beside it shows
the number 1 and abuch of other numbers . change he 1 into a 0

To take off the restrictor plate at say, Talladega simply change directory to
\NASCAR\TRACKS\TALADEGA and edit the file taladega.txt. There is a line in that looks like
this:

SPDWY 1 42 45

change the 1 to a zero so it looks like this

SPDWY 0 42 45

save the file and restart NASCAR and you will find yourself hitting almost 230mph down the back
stretch! The only problem occurs in two player games if one person has the restrictor plate on
and one has it off, it doesn't work. In the TALADEGA.txt file you can also edit how many laps
the race is, the Best lap time etc. The other tracks have a similar layout.
