I usually use http://showmyip.com if I need to check mine. Remember though,
if your brother is hosting from behind a router he'll need to forward
certain ports to his server PC's internal network IP. The ports are listed
in the N2002 readme.

If they're on the wild side of the router, they need the WAN IP address.
You need to go intot he configuration of the router to see what this IP
address is. Chances are that he's got a dynamic IP unless the DSL
provider automatically sets everyone up with a static IP (which I doubt
they'd do nowadays without charging extra for it).
After they have that IP, they also need to know what the net_server_port
value is. That's found in the server's CORE.INI file. if it says
"net_server_port=0" in the CORE.INI, his net server port is 32766, and
they need to include the port number with the IP like so:
0.0.0.0:32766
(where 0.0.0.0 is the WAN IP address you copied off the router's setup
screen).

Go to www.deerfield.com. The service is free. You pick a domain name, sign
up, and download a small client service package.
Install, configure, and from that point everyone can contact you without
knowing the IP address. The just type in something like
"www.thedomainnameyouchose.dns2go.com.
It's designed specifically for those who get DHCP addresses from their
Cable/DSL providers. The small client service keeps the Deerfield (dns2go)
system updated with your current IP address, and assigns it to the domain
you selected.
