Voodoo3 - Screen Moving Problems

Just got a voodoo3 2000 and it works a treat except.....when launching any
game - the screen moves out of kilter by about 4 inches. i have to keep
using the adjusters on the monitor to get it in line.....Its going to start
really bugging me once the novelty of the card wears off....
Had this problem to a lesser extent in the past, but this is rediculous. I
have the latest drivers and tried reinstalling again, but to no avail.
Any ideas?
My desktop is at 800 x 600 16 bit high colour, and this is the resolution I
use for most games including GPL.

Set the card to your monitors refresh rate at that particular resolution.
That should keep it in the middle of your screen :)

Your problem is that the game is causing the card to switch to a different
refresh rate when in "3D mode". If you don't have a monitor that can
"remember" the different settings, then you need to ensure that the card
uses the same refresh rate in games as it does for your desktop.

I'm not sure how you do that on your Voodoo3, but on my Orchid Righteous
3dfx card there is a settings tab in the display properties which allows me
to choose the refresh rates at various resolutions.

Thing is I never had this with my voodoo2 - so I dont think its inherently a
monitor problem. I tried different refresh rates, including 60, and same
problem. Besides, do games let you change the default refresh rate? I
understood most games ran at 60 or 66mhz, so choosing a higher refresh, may
impact on frame rate?
Guess I'll try 3dfx support.
Thanks for the suggestions.
