Hissing in NFS-PU

Hello.  I have NFS-Porsche updated to the latest version, a PCI Soundblaster
128 with latest drivers, and a 4-speaker + subwoofer set of Altec Lansing
speakers.  I tend to get this REALLY annoying hiss through the speakers,
especially while in the menus

anyone have any idea why?

I've got a SoundBlaster Live-X Gamer PCI card and sometimes I get some minor
hissing feedback in NFS-PU but it's been minor and spordic enough that it
didn't really bother me...

You might want to post your question over on alt.games.need-for-speed rather
than here but there are a lot of arcade/console "kids" over there so you
might not get much response... But it's worth a shot

To the original poster, you should make sure to mute any devices in
the volume control panel like mic, cd, line-in etc.  that you're not
using.  the hiss could be coming from static from the mic or line in.
