Is there any way to tell if you are getting full throtle in GPL? I've just
got a new wheel (BRD F1) and after a normal calibration it dosn't quite get
full throtle, it isn't noticable when driving and my top speed it only
1-2mph down but it took about 1-2 seconds off my laps. I sorted it by not
fully depresing the peddle when I calibrate in GPL but it got me thinking
there must be people out there not getting full throtle and not realising.
Can any of the replay utilities tell how much throtle you are useing? if
they don't at the moment it would be a very usefull feture, HINT HINT...

To insure I get full throttle, when in the "Calibrate Joystick"
screen, I don't push the throttle pedal all the way down when
calibrating.  This makes it register settings past the 'floor' when
racing at full throttle and I know it's wide open.  It *does* seem to
make a big difference.  At least to me...

I had this problem with my LWFF but it wasn't an accelerator problem but a
dragging brake since if wasn't calibrating right, A tweeker from wingman.com
sorted it, can you adjust deadzones, etc... manually?
I didn't notice this until I played Rally Championship and the brake lights
were on all the time.
I imagine though that you are comparing yourself to Huttu and other top
hotlappers. These guys seem to manage a few mph's extra due to lines, exit
speeds, setups, etc...
Compare your laps to anyone in your field and they'll be around the same as
you.
Practice seems to eek out some speed on the straight, a faster exit from
final corner and speed shifting means a lot when hotlapping.

My problem :
After a while driving (GPL for instance) the full throttle is not available
(the pedal reachs the end but not the full throttle). Sometime it hapens
imediatly in the begin of the game. The calibration procedure don't resolve
the problem. For a while the only thing that works is disconect the pedal
cable and reconect him. During same time this works and after a while the
same problem arrives.
I apreciate any sugestions.
TIA

I had the same sort of problem after replacing the spring under the
throttle in my T2.  I'm not sure if it was lack of full throttle or
dragging brake, but *something* was wrong.  I noticed it right away
because the problem was not subtle at first-- I couldn't even spin
the tires in first gear.  Eventually I got it fixed by disassembling
the pedals again and fiddling with the gear on the throttle pot until
it was more or less back where it belonged in the middle.  Even so, I
had the same lack-of-full-throttle condition afterwards, although much
more subtly.  I just kept recalibrating in GPL, and got different results
each time; sometimes premature brake lockup, other times lack of full
throttle, etc.  One time it finally felt right again, so I left it alone.
I'd love to hear a real answer to this one too, if anyone has one.

Oh, and I guess that the presence of a calibration setting in GPL means
it ignores the one in Windows' control panel?  My experience certainly
seems to indicate that this is the case, as I got it working fine in
control panel, even when it was *way* off in GPL.
