the Monza track appeared to be elevated...which it isn't in GPL...

anybody know the story on this?

The last F1 GP to be run on the full circuit (banked oval plus road circuit)
was during the 1.5-litre era, in 1961. The 3-litre cars never raced a GP on
the banking.

At this present time the banking, albeit in a rather decrepit state, still
exists but only through the tireless efforts of enthusiasts both in Italy
and world-wide.  However, nothing is guaranteed and demolition could still
go ahead.
