N3/NL Track Question

by Schlom » Fri, 03 Dec 1999 04:00:00

With the N3<-->NL palette changer now available from the pits I've been
converting tracks like a maniac to NL.  I was wondering though how to slow the
AI down.  Should I simply edit the BLAP line in the track.txt file?  Im
thinking about doing that but dont know how that will ultimately affect the AI
speed.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  TIA\

I am thinking of replacing my joystick with a FF model.
How does the MSFF compare to the Logitech one, primarily in racing,
but flight sims on the side .

(Yeah a wheel would be better, but nowhere to hide it ;) )

But a wheel. You can keep it at my house. If you're not using a wheel,
you're not really racing.

I would recomend the Logi as it is a USB product and generally
doesn't impact the framerate like a soundcard port does, but be warned
the pedals are pretty wimpy.  I too have a flight sim kit..(old old
Thrustmaster WSC throttle and Pro) and I keep those connected to a
joyswitch box.  I just have to remember to go into the windows control
panel and setup for the sticks or wheel before I start a paticular sim.

You should change RELS value for AI speed, and BLAP value for AI qualifying
time.
In my expriance :

                           RELS                BLAP
N3 to NL          -7 points              +7%
NL to N3         +7 points               -7%
N99 to NL       - 9 or 10 points     -10%

You should also change gear ratios in car setup :

N99 or N3 to NL      +10%
NL to N3                    -10%

Happy racing : )
