There is a "season" selection option.  You need to set it for 1997, not 1996.
1997 is the for Busch series and it includes Nashville and Texas.  1996 is the
Winston Cup series, and it doesn't include those tracks.

However though, you can edit the calendars (Although I prefer jsut to
create a new calendar) to get the tracks. So that way I can run Texas for
WC in the championship mode.
