Tires and laps at Tally and Daytona

OK...how many laps should a good driver be able to get out of set of tires
at Talladega and Daytona...for BOTH N3 and NL??

The Daytona demo track files seem to be "dumbed-down" for whatever reason
and I would like to adjust them to make them more accurate (as I believe the
Tally ones are??).  So is/was Daytona real life similar enough to Tally that
similar tire wear can be expected?

Thanks,

Marc.

For Talladega, I can go 'til the fuel runs out, which is around 43-45 laps.

Only thing I find a bit unrealistic is the fuel runs out about 5 laps too soon.
Reason being most of the teams in the twin 125s can go without a pit stop.
But for some reason I cant because I run out of fuel after 45-46 laps.  Maybe I
should try running in the draft more as opposed to trying to lead it :)

:)

Did you notice in the Talladega Diehard 500 on Sunday,
Mark Martin and Jeff Burton each ran 62 laps before their
first pit stops, then 63 before their second pit stops?

P.S. I am lousy at N3 green flag pit stops, especially
at Tally.  The AIs always seem to get 4 tires (even with
5 laps to go).  At least on replays, their stops take 15-17
seconds.  Even so, I have a hard time retaining
my position when I go in for just 2 tires and one can of
fuel.  And I do go in with a big group of AIs.  They can
slow to pit speed very quickly!  (This is at 105%).
Also they stop at precisely the right spot.  While on
pit lane they travel EXACTLY the pit road speed limit.
Yes, I have spent time practicing pit stops.
But not enough I suppose.

The Daytona demo is very dumbed down (Same with Dega) . If you want a
challenge use these tire settings for Daytona

TIRES 57000 4500 60000000 60000 4700 41000000 0

They arent realistic because of the short pit window that N3 has, (will
explain that below), but it does make for an exciting race where 2 tire
stops are easily possible, but tire wear is a factor in a fuel run... unlike
Dega or Papy-Tona.

Pit Window = number of laps that can be run on fuel at Dega and Tona. The
bad part is that the real guys can run many more laps on fuel then we can in
N3. Why? Because they get so much better fuel mileage. Why? Because they
dont run at 8000 RPM, they run between 6500 and 7000. Try it and you will
see huge mileage gain, but you will be running much slower too... about
correct race speeds compared to real life :-)

Just wondering - is anyone working on a patch for the new, smaller
restrictor plates (and AI to mimic that racing???)

I ran 47 laps at Talladega on monday.  Should've only changed right-side
tires...I might have WON...
