set your wheel lock to 30 degrees on all the road circuits.

this allows recovery from even 90 degree slides. before this i had
always wondered why the steering wheel had no effect past a certain
point (car, not in wheel position) when the car was loosing grip in
the rear.

Well you could try it - but you'll lose a lot of time by not being
able to keep it straight on the straights.....

A better approach is to not put the power on so quickly so you don't
get into those skids to start with :)

I'll try this as soon as I'm outta here. I was wondering why the default
had it to only 18 degrees. made turning a stiff corner really difficult.

Cuz you don't need nearly that much. Twelve deg on some hairpins turns
is tighter than I can see to the side. It makes a strong case for buying
VR headsets...

Try trail braking to lessen the understeer during turn entry. I think
you'll find you're using your sidewalls for brakes with that much wheel
lock. I rarely get much tire noise going into corners, but they howl
plenty right after apex. Long Beach is my favorite; I've finally got the
car tuned where 4 wheel drifts are normal and controllable. Coming out
of T6, the wheels are pointed straight ahead, but the car is still
drifting across the 3 lanes... it looks awesome on the replays too.
