problem: Thrustmaster T2 and Grand Prix 2

It sounds like you are running GP2 under Win95, so try this new
calibrating utility for Win95 from Thrustmaster

ftp://208.129.210.78/pub/library/propanel.exe

It works like the Win95 setup, but has settings for all of Thrustmaster's
sticks and wheels...

problem: Thrustmaster T2 and Grand Prix 2

Hi!

I connected the T2 wheel to the game port of the sound card (SB AWE
32) and everything worked fine for over a year. But since a few days, I
have the problem, that after just 1 or 2 laps, the GP2 car is suddenly
turning to the left and accelerating without even pushing the gas pedal.

In Windows 95, under Settings/Game Controllers, I can see that the
centering of the wheel gets really unstable after a few minutes.

But: In both cases (GP2 and Windows 95), I just have to press any key (!)
to regain full control over the car, respectively to get the centering
stable again in Windows 95. That's something, I can't explain! If the
problem was due to a heating issue, it would not disappear after pressing
a
key! A few minutes later, the same problem starts again.

Yes, I know that Thrustmaster recommends to use a dedicated game card with
the T2 wheel, but it did work great until now! Why shouldn't it anymore? I
don't expect a software problem (I upgraded the bios of the motherboard
(AOpen AP5T) and of the video card (Matrox Mystique) recently. Is there a
chance that this is the source of the problem?). So, it could just be a
hardware problem?

Has someone experienced a similar problem and how did he solve it?

Thanks for each comment or advice.
