Need a little advice...  I see speed postings at Tally of 196 using a
joystick.  I can only muster a 194 (steady 193's) and realize I am
scrubbing of alot in the turns.  Cannot afford a wheel but maybe a better
joystick would give me more steering control... seems I have all or none...
Suggestions on a GOOD joystick for racing???

Thanks,

Most likely it's not your joystick.  Play with your settings to find a way to
scrub less speed.  I typically find that a slightly looser setup yields better
turning speed.  Also, almost every setting will have some effect on your
cornering speed.  I say it's not your joystick because I've got 2 - a $10
bargain bin special, and a $60 digital wonder.  My lap times aren't very
different, the $60 one just feels a lot better and doesn't fatigue my hand as
quickly.

I have used a CH Products Flightstick for over 5 years now and it still
works good.  I run better times with it than my T2 which only takes up space
in the closet now.  Have also tried several other joysticks including
Microsoft Sidewinder 3D but always come back to my Flightstick.

BTW I have run in excess of 196 without draft at 70 degrees at Talladega so
it is quite possible with a joystick.

I'm glad to see some talk about using the joysticks in NASCAR2. This is all I
have right now and I was afraid I was really missing something not having a
wheel and pedals.

I use a Gravis Analogue Pro - it's not moulded for hand shape, but it's
padded and good for long periods of use.  It's also got two fire buttons
on the base (useful for gear up/down if you don't want to use the stick
mounted buttons) and the throttle control can be used for reversing...
I've always found the Gravis much easier to drive with than others -
it's less flight sim oriented and more practical for the money.
Quality's good, too.

I would have to agree. My gravis analog is just fine for nascar2 and icr2
