New F1 game

I heard while watching the qualification for the German GP that there's a
new F1 game coming.
I should have been developed by (or with help from) McLaren and an other
team.
Did anyone hear this or know anything about ?

The title was(i think): Formula one Simulator.

New F1 game

Hello there,

The game you're refering to is PlayStation Power F1 by Lankhor and Eidos.
Being a PlayStation release it's likely to be more Arcade than Simulation
Here's the link to Absolute PlayStation who have screenshots, and where the
below preview is from: http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Power F1 will include all of the thir*** constructor teams and drivers
that took part in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship of the 1995 season,
while the engineers from McLaren, one of the world's leading F1 teams, have
acted as a technical resource throughout the development period.
This relationship has resulted in Power F1 incorporating unparalleled
levels of realism. All of the constructors cars have been authentically
represented right down to the last nut and bolt. Lankhor have incorporated
a true force model of the F1 racing car where all the main settings can be
altered in the pits.
The game offers multiple choices of viewing angles, so when driving with
the camera set to the in-car mode you can visibly see the working
instrument panel that provides regular updates on your cars revs and speed,
information on your vehicles damage and the real 3D steering wheel includes
working warning lights.
Each of the seven*** 3D tracks have been modelled to the finest detail
using official surveyor maps, where there is a camber at Silverstone, there
is a camber in the game.
In addition to graphically recreating the cars and tracks accurately, F1
incorporates stunning graphical effects like visible rain, spray, fogging
and heat haze. So let's hope that the weather can change dramatically
during the course of a race to offer the player strategic decisions such as
slicks or wets, suntan lotion or raincoats and racing car or speedboat.
This ultimate driving experience is further enhanced by sophisticated
Artificial Intelligence. All the drivers have had their personalities and
driving traits duplicated to add an extra challenge, so Damon Hill will
probably drive straight into a wall of tyres just when he is within
touching distance of the Championship.

High revingly yours,

No, I don't think so. There was a bit about it on Dutch RTL-4 before the
race. It's being developed by Benetton and is a PC game.

It is set to be released later this year. Power F-1 already is out for PC.

    "Fellas, stoke me a clipper,
               I'll be back for Christmas."

"It's sharper than a page of Oscar Wilde whitticisms rolled into a
point,
sprinkled with lemon juice and stuck into someone's eye."

Just a note worth mentioning - Power F1 for '95 will be released for
the PC and it looks just great.  It's the same team who produced Power
F1 for the PC,  which was crap.

This one looks like it is gonna be just great - hopefully.  :-)

Cheers.....Ken

Thanks for your input.
The game Power F1 for PlayStation is developed by Lankhor, published by
Eidos and is based on the 1995 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
If you care to check out the link I provided above, according to Absolute
PlayStation's/APSX preview you will read that this particular game
'benefits from the engineers from McLaren, who have acted as a technical
resource throughout the development period.'
There is no mention by APSX that this game will be released on PC, mind
you, it is a PlayStation website after all and may have chosen to omit this
information.
Now I don't know if there is another Formula 1 game out there in
development with assistance from Benetton other than upcoming Formula 1:
Champioship Edition/F1CE by Bizarre Creations/Psygnosis.
F!CE is based on the 1997 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
You'll have to contact Bizarre Creations or Psygnosis about whether their
upcoming F1CE is the game benefitting from Benetton F1 assistance.
I have not read anywhere that it has, nor that it will be released on the
PC.
Regardless, lets hope it gets released soon with no bugs, and at the worst
is equal to GP2.....here's hoping! :-)

Pasene R. Faifua.
