I've got a pIII 500 with a Creative labs annihilator Geoforce. Last week N3
started crashing after about 30 mins of play. I tried everything including a
format and reinstall of my hard drive, and the f******g problem is still
there. can anyone help, its really begining to***me off.

thanks

Sounds like an overheating problem. Are you overclocking anything?

yup when the time frame of crashing is somewhat consistant, then
there is a good chance you have a heat short or just an overstressed
component.  Try yanking things like the sound card out and see if it
continues...of course, make sure you have the latest drivers for all
your components.

I thought it could be overheating, but  I've never run anything overclocked.
Also its just in N3. I ran unreal tournament for an hour yesterday in D3D to
test it but it didn't crash. I'll try all the suggestions (except changing
my hardware - not that rich) and see what happens.
Thanks

Just because you don't overclock something doesn't mean it's not still
overheating.  There's a possibility N3 pushes your overall hardware to
overheat more so than UT.  try UNDERCLOCKING your video card and see if that
does anything.  Also look VERY closely at your BIOS settings for your memory
timing to see if there's anything there to "throttle down."

I seem to experience the same crashes with a PIII 500 and a GeForce Pro in
both N3 and NLegends.
Can run F1 2000 for hours though.
There's nothing overclocked here so i begin to suspect the Papy stuff just
doesn't go too well with the GeForce...
