Modem disconnects when playing NASCAR3

  Every ime I get on the track to race in NASCAR3  the modem gets
disconnected.I can connect okay and can use the replay screen and chat
line, but when I go to the race and start pulling out of the pits I
get disconnected.If any one can help me or give me some idea what is
wrong Iwould greatly appreciate the help.
