I would like to say thanks, for the patch, and that I'm enjoying racing GPL
again. The Force Feedback effects makes GPL a little easier, and thats a
good thing for me.
There are a lot of people bashing the patch, I just wanted to let you guy's
know there are people that are enjoying the patch. Keep up the good work.

And for those people that are bashing the patch: Quake II is on patch rev
3.2, F1RS is at 1.09, MGPRS2 is 1.06 (and needs more patching), and Tribes
is also at 1.6. Just because there are some problems with patch 1.1 doesn't
mean it's the end of the world.

Ditto.  Cudo's to Papy for the Patch.  I LOVE the FF affects.  I
still suck but not as bad now.  Also inspired me to make a sim-pit for
this thing.  So far it looks more like a box-kite from hell than a
Lotus 49 but this one's just the prototype. ;-)

Whoa...........

I haven't read much "patch bashing" but a whole lotta people are having
major problems racing GPL since installing the patch. Not unexpectedly they
are reporting these and along with these reports come (at times colourful)
descriptions of their frustration. Personally its the most flawed software
patch I've ever installed on my machine, but with Papyrus's acknowledged
expertise I am sure it will be sorted soon.

Cheers,

Greg

Flawed? Gee, works fine for me.  And if the GPL 1.1 was the most flawed
patch or piece of software I'd ever come across, I'd be thankful.  There is
a lot worse. :)

Well, it broke multiplay here, so it certainly has problems. I've been
fooling around with COR.INI settings but haven't been able to get it
to work yet. Hey I just thought of something. PAPYRUS, could you post
a CORE.INI that sets online variables to their GPL 1.0 defaults? Then
we could easily determine whether or not it's a real bug.

Agreed.

Well said. The only problem I'm having is not being able to connect to
VROC2 but spyboy appears to work for me ok? Apart from that this patch
is working fine for me.

This patch is FREE. Papy didn't have to patch it at all and GPL would
have still continued to be the best sim, ever. I'm sure Papy will try to
address the problems that some people are having. Just be patient, it
takes time to sort these things out, and hurling abuse and unhelpful
comments are not gonna speed things up.

If you are having problems try to be constructive. Post a message here
telling people what the problem is, when it occurs? how often it occurs?
what are the circumstances that cause it to occur? What your hardware
is, what operating system you are using, what other programs are running
at the same time in the background, and what drivers you are using, and
what file contents you are using (core, ini, etc)

Then maybe people, you might actually get a helpful response and we can
all help to sort these problems out for the folks that are suffering?
Just maybe?
