GP2 with Rendition?

by Wingm » Fri, 15 Aug 1997 04:00:00

How does GP2 perform with a Rendition-based video card?  I have an ET-6000
now, but I want to upgrade to the Rendition so I can play Nascar in enhanced
mode.  However, I'm worried that GP2 (which I play a lot) might be slower...

BTW, does anybody have a Rendition-based video card for sale?

Thanks...

I am not familiar with the ET-6000 and its speed, but when I replaced
my ATI Mach64 (well known DOS dog), there wasn't much difference in GP2
in SVGA.  GP2 is such a hog, I doubt that you will see any more than a
frame or 2 difference if that.

Graphics card does not make that much of a difference.  If you want a frame
rate increase in GP2, upgrade your CPU.  Its more CPU intensive than graphics,
if that makes sense.

GP2 isn't slower but it's certainly no faster with the Rendition card
because the game has not been coded to take advantage of 3-D.
