Hi

How do you tell if you have bottomed out ?
Are sparks the only way ?

what if you are using in car view, you would
never see sparks , right  ?

btw, besides the "occasional" wheel coming off
what other damages are there if we use
realistic damage option ?

so far as I could tell, there is no indication like
suspension damage, steering damage etc.

Crank the sound up, or try and replace your bottoming sound with something
louder

Right...but you'll feel the car going straight on....! (Not unusual)

Engine quietly dying (smoking, steaming) bent steeting, any others anyone??

As far as damage you could also have the alignment seriously thrown off or
suffer a blown cylinder (neat effect you can hear the difference also)
cuasing slower performance.

Hi!

Goto the following address:
http://members.xoom.com/_XOOM/crashmania99/e_spa.html
and d/l the crash dated 12.03.1999 with the following description:
"This was supposed to be a real crash, but what can you do if you just
miss it? Right- a megaburnout!"
In this replay you can see a crashattempt of me which resulted in a
damaged suspension causing one of the rear tires to lose grip. This is
what I call a good damage model...

Bye!

A common problem with the Brabham at the higher damage levels is screwing up
the camshaft if you hit something and rev it really high.

Those occur if you puncture your fuel tank and light it up...it burns up all
of your fuel.

From the movie True Lies, where Arny and Tom are listening in to the
fake spy "This just gets better and better". LOL
When you hear this loud scraping sound, followed by *** spinning
and collision with something very hard, THAT"S BOTTOMING OUT!
Also, if you zoom in (ALT - W) from the replay screen when the car
is on it's roof and then hit ALT - M (micrometer) you can physically
measure the amount of wear. For very small amounts of wear you will need
to use CTRL - M (magnifying glass) to measure accurately.

You'll find the handling going "funny", simulating suspension arms
that are bent or out of true, problems with the diff causing excessive
one-sided wheelspin under acceleration etc - those were just from me
whacking the wall in Malmedy last night :-)

Quite often the car will handle strangely after a shunt or even only a
tap, depending upon what damage was done to the car.

Cheers!

I find it pretty easy to tell if a tire is down after
an off, ....   because of the new shunt soon after ;)
