Greetings,
I have been tweeking the Imola setup and trying everything
to squeeze fractions of a second off my lap times.
At this stage I cannot get under 1:22.2xx (steering help on only and
using keys ... I don't have a wheel/pedals).
I have noticed that on the 1st gear lefthander after the long 6th gear
straight I can cut .2 secs off the 1st split time by braking ridiculously
late dropping to 1st gear and immediately accelerating.
However, a fast line through the 3rd gear chicane after Aqua Minerale (on
top of the hill) still eludes me. I have tried just about every line,
every gear combination and every braking point I could think of, but
I cannot get the car to fly through there. I keep running onto the grass
on the exit. Damn, those ripple strips are so friggin' slippery!
My setup feels very comfortable and after trying to change different
aspects, my current setup is the only one allowing for consistent
laptimes without feeling like I am about to lose control on every corner.
(I don't have the setup handy, but can be posted on request).
Any comments would be gratefully accepted.
Sandor.
