My sound card is giving up on me and I need advice on whats good and bad.
I want an all around card for ***.Thanks

This isn't any great revelation, but the Sound Blaster 16 is the most
widely supported sound card.  I have a SB AWE64 and had only one
sound problem. (Front Page Sports Skiing - but there is a patch
on the Creative Labs site to fix it)

Trust me, I go through alot of games.

It helps to place the card at a well supported configuration as well:

        I/O      = 220,
        IRQ      = 5,
        LOW DMA  = 1
        HIGH DMA = 5
