Am I correct to assume that the converter is primarily for hot lapping and
online racing?  There aren't credible AI at the converted tracks, too, are
there?

Marc.

Yes, they are not without a reasonably high level of intelligence, glad to
say.

Really?  So someone (Dave?!?!?) took the time to program competitive AI at
all or most of the tracks as well as doing all the graphics conversions?
Wow...if this is true I am ordering my converter today!!  Racing good AI at
a decent (N3) Indy would be worth the price of the converter alone!

Marc.

Yes, the AI are good. Some tracks are better than others, I like Milwaukee
best, and Indy least (at Indy they sometimes appear drunk, speeding up and
slowing down at strange times). Maybe Dave will do a patch just to tweak
them that little bit  more? Its a great converter though. One other thing,
its nice to drive GPL cars in full sunshine for a change!

I guess it depends on what you mean by competitive. You can certainly drive
with them at Indy. They don't drive "dumb."

On the other hand, I won a novice race against the AI first time out of the
box. Pole, fastest lap, and the win. The whole sheebang.

It did take a last lap, turn three pass to do it, (Hill beat me at the start
and built up a bit of a lead on lap one), but they arn't what you could call
tough. (Note, watch T3, the AI overslow there and you're likely to boot one
up the bum.)

Must be the speed of Indy though, on the other ovals beating them is much
tougher. Love those short tracks! They are a bit "dumber" on the "true"
ovals though. Watch their lines carefully  if you don't want to be collected
by them.

I never even saw the AI after the starting grid, won a 7 lap race by 3.5
seconds. Maybe in a longer race you would at least get to over take some
lappers.

I Think at sometracks they are good like sears point where all the cars go out
to practice and qualify, instead of 2-4 cars. Well im clapping my hands for his
converter.

Good job Dave

Fortunately for me the Milwaukee Mile is my favorite Oval. I almost kept CPR
just to drive there. If the AI had been worth a damn I probably would have.

Now it's irrelavant, ( and how a relavant got into my pajamas I'll never
know), an Eagle flies in Wisconson!

Shouldn't the Milwaukee AI guys be driving drunk? We're talking about
beer city...Milwaukee Brewers baseball, home of Miller Brewing...Old
Milwaukee the beer that made Milwaukee famous!

Just wondering,

Gary

I have to make up for their abstinence in that instance Gary. Its a hard
job, but somebody has to do it.
