Bare or if its cool, socks.
Could not race w/ anything else on my feet.

Socks and shoes, 90% of the time, except in the height of summer, when I
wear nothing but shorts & T-shirt.
But as I don't use pedals, it really doesn't matter, does it? :)
Do you want to know whether we wear driving gloves or not? How about
headwear?

Bruce.

Barefoot.  Except when racing NASCAR. The pedals get too hot :>)

<snip>

Bare-footed. As I don't drive a real car, any difference from the feel
of real-world driving is of no importance to me.

I would imagine it depends on how much force you are getting back off
your pedals.  If they are very light to the touch then its probable that
you would find it difficult to feel whats going on if you were wearing a
pair of trainers.  This is certainly what I found with my pedals.
However, both my pedals have been given extra oomph by placing a tennis
ball behind each, which means that I can wear a pair of soft trainers
and still feel the pedals pushing back quite well.

Socks for a quick spin, slippers for longer stints as my brake pedal is
so hard to push down my foot gets sore after a while

Beers and cheers
