Haven't seen much mention of them, though they were highly
acclaimed...

What do people think of them?
Including the new USB models?

How do they compare to the Hypersim units?  The old ECCI units?
Redline Race Controls?

Need thorough feedback please.  I'm not going to go around tossing
thousands on a unit without some good feedback........

it is "MonsterKill", In Quake3 it is "Excellent",
in Counter-Strike it is "Kicked by console"

TSW: Still built like a brick sh*thouse, still offer unmatched customer
service, still perform flawlessly, still look like speed equipment for a
1948 Studebaker.

I've had mine for 5 or 6 years.
great workmanship, solid, reliable
I have changed the pots a number of times and the unit is as
good today as the day I got it.  good pedals.

Cheers

I have friends who use the TSW units and they wouldn't use anything else.
In an effort to save money I bought the Logitech Momo Racing FFB unit.  I
have raced on my friends TSW and I like the Momo just as much, if not more.
I have had to do some little fixes to the Momo, such as tightening the gas
pedal and tightening the steering, but the small amount of time wasn't much
of an inconvenience.  Based on service and long-term durability I would
recommend the TSW, but if you are looking to save money and want a unit that
is just as good as the TSW go with the Momo.  You might have to replace a
few parts every two or three years, but IMHO, it is better to do that and
spend $90 bucks initially rather than spending $400 or more initially.

I wouldn't change my RedLine pedals for any other pedals I've tried,
which includes TSW's, I'm using them with a homemade wheel that's
basically a replica of the TSW's

That gives me the sturdiness and reliability of a TSW wheel combined
with the same reliability and excellent "feel" of the RedLine pedals

The prob w. Logi is that they have no customer support.  None.  If it breaks
under warranty, they fix it.  Otherwise, it's toast.  They won't sell you
any parts because they have none.  Zero.  Zip.  Nada.

That said, I have the best of both worlds: I have a MOMO FF wheel and TSW
pedals.  Plus a spare MOMO FF wheel in case the first one dies.

You can buy replacement pot kits for Logitech wheels from Digikey.

TSW2 stock. Had it for about 7 years. Its kind of tired but all because of
my abuse. With normal DAILY use it would be fine and it really still is.

That's not the same thing as being able to buy parts from Logi...and there
are a lot of dedicated parts that can (and do) fail which can neither be
fixed nor replaced.

And I meant to say that Logi will replace broken units under warranty, not
fix them.

Didn't claim it was the same, just letting people know is all.

I have a TSW2mod, and I think it's a great unit.  However, I can only compare
it to the Thrustmaster T2 I had before.  I'm not *about* do drop $1000 on a
wheel, even if I *could* afford it.

Mine isn't...I loved the pedals, but I would go through steering wheel pots
every couple of months. I finally dropped it a few years ago, still have it
though.

Hey Stuart

What do you use now?
How does it compare to the TSW - (as good I presume or you wouldn't have
swithced)

Do you want to get rid of the old wheel?

Cheers

I've got a Logitech Momo Force with act labs pro pedals. I like the force
feedback I get now, and the fact that the steering wheel buttons actually
stay on. The pedals were definitely better in the  TSW, but since it was a
gameport version, I'm not sure if it will work in windows now.

If I can't get the pedals to work, yea, I'll get rid of it, but its so old
that I doubt anyone would want it, and if they did, I can't guarantee I have
all the parts or that it even works.
