GP Manager patch 1.02

I haven't seen this mentioned yet (which doesn't necessarily mean it
hasn't been talked about already) - There is a GPM 1.02 patch available
at ftp.microprose.com dated 11/9/96. I've glanced through the bug fix
list, and it appears to be quite extensive, but I saw no fix for
multiple drivers with the same name :(

I haven't applied the patch yet (no time) so I can't comment on how
good it is but I just thought you might be interested,

Thanks a lot for that info! Lets hope that the quality is up to acceptable
standards this time. GPM had so much potential, could have been a real
classic if it weren't for all the bugs. Some bugs in a game could be
accepted, but GPM was full of them, making the game unplayable. In the
emails I got from Microprose concerning my bug reports I got the feeling
that they truly were ashamed of the product.

BTW, anyone played or heard anything about Team F1, the new management game?
It is listed in Special Reserve. There is also a GPM2 on the way from what I
heard.

That's totally true...(I have'nt played GPM since June because of it/I
might try it again with the new patch/ like you said, the game has great
potential)

I have a demo that came from "PC Sports" Winter 95' issue(Future
Publishing). There was even an "Ad" of the coming game in the mag.
The game is called "Pole-Position/FORMULA 1 TEAM MANAGER" and made by
"Ascon"(tel: 0171 372 7544). I've never called them(I'm from Canada and I
think they're based in the U.K. or Germany ?).

I've only tried it briefly on my friend's computer(it was not compatible
with my "ATI/Mach 64" card :-(    ).
We could not get any sounds (?), but the game looked very promising(I
delayed the purchase of "GPM" until may 96' cause I tried badly to find
this game).

One fantastic feature let you managed the wear(in %) of all mechanical
components, and then, you needed to decide if you replaced it, or
rebuilded it at a lower cost(rebuilding an engine earlier was cheaper
than waiting until it died).
You needed to select precisely wich parts you wanted to bring at the
tracks.
To hire drivers, you have access to a large bank of drivers(real names)
from all the European series(F3000, F3 etc.), and of course actual F1
drivers(was based on the 95' season).

Menus(testing, research, garage, race, etc.) are similar to GPM. You always
move around from your office, but race is show through a TV style
coverage(instead of the aerial view of GPM).

Can't say more about the release or avaibility of the game...

Cheers!

I absolutely love Grand Prix Manager and my version has had no bugs.
However, can anyone shed any light on the rumour that Grand Prix Two is
compatible with Grand Prix Manager.  The fact that GP2 simply does not
run under Windows makes that question even more difficult to answer.
