GPL, Riverside and GRE

I never have been any good at doing setups. At all. Nada. So when I tried
Riverside I was in a quandary over how to set up my Eagle. Then I used the
standard GRE recommendations for the Eagle and the track, and was very
impressed. Now I know how a neutral setup feels on a new course. I still
have to do some tweaking, but I'm very satisfied with how well the starting
GRE settings work. Riverside is a very tough track; the Esses will scare
you, the two first gear corners will confuse you, and then the long back
stretch will give you a few seconds to think about how brave you want to be
going into the last turn.

BTW, the AI at Riverside is very good. They do seem to be a little weak in
turn nine, which is the banked last turn, but they are champs on the rest of
the course, and know when to pass and when to wait. Outstanding conversion
of this great track!!

Is this something that GRE suggested automatically?  When I create a new
setup and select a track, it doesn't change the settings for a particular
track.  Just wondering if I'm missing something.

The information for a "standard" chassis setup is in the help file. They
have recommended settings for the particular chassis in one section, and
then in another section there are recommended settings for certain types
of tracks. You need to enter these values using the GRE main window.

The drop boxes on the setup window I believe are for setting the proper
path and file extensions. I don't think that they effect the setup
values in any way.
