fine otherwise, but this is a tad annoying. Fixes for this, such as
browsing to the GPL folder, instead of GPL.exe, have been suggested here
before, but that doesn't work.
Any clues anyone?
Thanks, Glenn

Have you checked the entry for "Working directory" from "Properties" on
the right-click menu for the GRE .exe file? Changing it to the right
directory often does the trick.

Hi Glenn,
This is an unsolved problem with GRE for some of us...
I was on the beta team for GRE and this problem persisted all through
the beta stage for me, with Nate spending many long and frustrating
hours trying to track this problem down for me on my computer.
Incidentally, i was the only member of the Beta team who had this
problem, so it is restricted to just a few of us. :(
The problem is actually related to another error trapping routine that
Nate put into GRE to take care of an error message i was receiving
every time i run GRE, so if you can work it out, i am sure Nate would
be very happy too...
A side effect of the error trapping routine means that while GRE will
at least work properly for us few that have this problem, GRE will not
find or remember the location on GPL.EXE, even after it is shown the
correct location.
Putting the GPL.EXE path into the GRE.ini file manually, will not cure
the problem either..
So obviously you and me are both running some similiar
hardware/software configuration that causes this error trapping routine
to kick in..
Hopefully Nate will find a cure eventually, but for the time being,
there is not much you can do, unless you feel like doing a complete
re-install of Windows and all your other software to see if that fixes
the problem.. :))

As for the current problem, I guess I can live with it for now.
Thanks again,
Glenn
