A GPaL Question?

by Scott B. Huste » Wed, 19 May 1999 04:00:00

AMEN.

I don't know Jack personally and I don't think I have ever raced with
him,  but by looking at his site and the FREE product he is developing,
he is spending a TON of his own free time developing a utility that is
going to be extremely useful for a vast majority of the GPL users.

From what i see,  Jack does not need publicity or a slap on the
back...   all he is doing is spending his own time and efforts in
building a product for anyone who WANTS to use it.

Even if you for some reason think its worthless,  you should still be
thankful that people like Jack give all of us options for utilities to
make our racing more enjoyable and convenient.

THANKS Jack.

A GPaL Question?

Why in the world does a utility need chat?  SpyBoy needs chat and so does
VROC, but since GPaL isn't either one of them and just a utility to allow
you to setup GPL the way you want it and easily (supposedly/hopefully) it
does not need a chat feature.  Good grief.  Want it to take out your garbage
for you too?

The way the adds were worded, GPal sounded like it was going to be a
competitor to TEN, GSB, and any other future GSB type of application.  (chat,
Race list, ect..)    If you read some of the other questions asked about GPal,
you would see that I'm not alone with this assumption.  Since I wrote that
post,  it has been described in more detail what GPal is going to be.

The GPal application does sound interesting.  Having a chat feature along
with it would greatly enhance the application.    The addition of being able to
take out the trash for me would also be a big improvement too ;-)

I just cant wait to see your product in action Jack.

And thanks in advance for taking the time to code all this stuff for people
like me who will enjoy GPL even more because of it.

And , you don't need to reply to my e-mail. =;-D

Snip

Ok, let me get this straight........ you didn't say "that new versions
of VROC & SpyBoy had ALL of the features,"  you said "that VROC 1.2
and the new SpyBoy also have all the added features".  Umm, ok now I
get it "ALL" means something different than "all".

Randy...

Thanks for the sentiment, but let's let this nearly-fossilized thread fade
into extinction! :)

Sorry about that guys, but I wrote that comment and posted it to my
server way back when the thread first started.  Thought it just got
lost as I never saw it on the n.g.  Now it shows up and I am suprised
that anyone even new what the heck I was talking about.

No problems Randy..  <G>
Sorry i jumped on you about restarting this thread, some things i guess
we are just better off letting die a slow and natural death and this
thread was one of them..   :)
Computers are one thing we can never rely on to do the right thing by
us.   They tend to surprise us all the time.  :)
Cheers, and apologies as well.
