Anyone seen or heard of a patch to eliminate the ridiculous question at
the opening of the game?  Also, any tools, tips, and tricks would be
appreciated!

I thought that the "official" 1.05 patch left the question there, but
never bothered to check what you typed. (In any case, a web search will
reveal the bytes to change in the .exe (or a third-party) patch to fix
it.)
