I have heard that it is there and it works but it is not documented or
supported. With this explanation, I read that a dedicated Novell
server is required for the type of networking (IPX )that is "not"
supported. i.e.
Is Novell Netware supported? YES
Is Novell Lite supported? NO
Is Lantastic supported? NO
Is Invisible Network supported? NO
Is Microsoft Windows for Workgroups 3.1 supported? NO
Is Microsoft Windows for Workgroups 3.11 supported? NO
Is Microsoft WindowsNT supported? NO
Is IBM LAN server supported? NO
Is any peer-to-peer networking scheme supported? NO
Is any networking scheme other than "Novell Netware" supported? NO
I have heard that this still only works for TWO human players.
But then I read that someone saw FOUR such machines hooked up at a
trade show a few months ago. Was this really FOUR in the same race
over a network? Or was it two sets of TWO side by side that just led
someone to think that FOUR were really racing in the same race at the
same time?
I have also heard that it does not work and that is why it is not
documented and not supported. But then why does typing
NASCAR ?
yield some "documentation" that says that it is supported?
Please, if you know some FACTS about the above and you have really
done some NASCAR networking and you really understand what you were
doing, PLEASE help clear this up.
Thanks!

We have a special version of NASCAR that we use for tradeshows with our
pods. It allows 4 players to race over a network.
There is a network option for 2-players, it does require a Netware server,
it is not documented or supported.
Is that authoritative enough?

Absolutely perfect :)
Is there ANY likelihood, even the ***iest remote possibility that the 4
player version would be released as a patch / upgrade / new game? I
would absolutely LOVE that, it's the only thing really missing from ICR2
and NASCAR.
Thanks for any info,
John

Their setup was really nice and I think it would be great to be able
to do the same thing over the Internet or over a modem. C'mon Papyrus,
we know that it works, go ahead and release it.

I was ripped.

Jeff-
1) Have both playes log into the Novell network. For sake of this
discussion, we'll call you Jeff and your friend Bob.
2) You (Jeff), from the NASCAR directory on your HD, type
NASCAR /N:BOB
3) Your friend (Bob) from his NASCAR directoy on his HD types,
NASCAR /N:JEFF
4) Go into "MultiPlayer Race"
5) Select the option "Net User ID"
6) It will confirm the user ID.
7) Have fun, and don't crash Bob on purpose. ;)

Is there some sort of generic login id? I have two computer networked
in my house and don't have login id's for them. Do I assign them id's?
How does this work?
I got a NE2000 packet driver for IPX networking. Just can't figure it
out.
Curious,
Jeff
