What do you guys think about N2002's AI? I haven't tested all the
tracks yet, but I think the AI is pretty amazing on the ovals. Racing
so close with 43 AI cars without any weird AI screwups is pretty
amazing I think. I drove about 10 hours on the Coca Cola track this
weekend, most of the yellows flags were caused by me (oops) and the
accidents that were caused by the AI looked realistic and happened at
'normal' intervals. Watching the replays is pretty exciting :)

On the other hand, on WG the AI is still pretty bad imho. At the start
there's a big change of an accident (I started about 10 WG races
yesterday and in 5 races there was the T1 crash) and after the esses
the AI screws up quite often to when they have to brake for the next
corner.

But they still drive much better than most of the online players..

They are pretty bad on restarts if there is a damaged car at the front. They
just slow 20-30mph causing a big pile up rather than go around the outside
to pass, even on the plate tracks.

You need to find a good league Andre, if you think the AI is such :)

True.. I mostly did online pickup races in N4, but what a difference
with online GPL.. So.. the AI is better than the 'average' online
drivers :)

LOL!  That race was like a combination of every Dega/Tona race I've ever
seen online.  These guys need to play N4/N2k2 less, it's having an
impact. <g>

I did an 50% race at Atlanta and the AI didn't***up on the pit
stops. The few yellows that came out were due to contact between the AI
during a green flag run. I was really impressed. Maybe I can finally
start doing a championship offline now.

Yes, at the ovals the AI behave very impressive. But at WG they really
suck.. I was in the lead yesterday (ok, I set AI to 90% :-/ ) with 43
cars, and within 27 laps there were 7 major AI accidents.
Most accidents happen after the s/f line and before the inner loop.
Those AI need some heave braking practice!

Or is that normal compared to real life Nascar at WG?

Not usually.  Lots of single car stuff, but nothing major normally.

Well, it's an AI in the end.  Best racing will always be with other
people.
