Hi Greg,

I've come to think that if it looks that bad on your system, you must be doing
something wrong. I've heard lots of different comments, and some stated that on
their system for example the walls are blurred etc., despite the fact that they
use hi-res textures.

On my system, the 3dFX patch looks _very_ good. It's absolutely smooth, and
looks _much_ better than the Rendition version (I have both a 3dFX _and_ a
Rendition board installed).

The 3dFX version beats the Rendition version in all aspects, if set up
correctly. Please keep trying.

Batch file I use to start Nascar23dfx....and I really am loving the
way it plays.

SET N2FXAA=1
SET N2FXLOAD=0X100000
NAS3DFX.EXE -3DFX

General start up settings for my Flash 3d Voodoo. These settings are
in my Autoexec.bat file. These settings also work excellently for most
everything else.

set SST_GAMMA=
REM And the other stuff
SET SST_SCREENREFRESH=60
SET SST_GRXCLK=60
SET FX_GLIDE_NO_SPLASH=1
SET SST_FASTMEM=1
SET SST_FASTPCIRD=1
SET SST_SWAP_EN_WAIT_ON_VSYNC=0
SET FX_GLIDE_SWAPINTERVAL=0
SET SST_MEMINFO=1
SET SST_MEMINFO_LFB=1
SET SST_MEMINFO_TEX=1

And also I agree with Nos overclock your Pentium...I have my old 166
set to 2.5 x 75mhz and with the 64mb SDRAM and my New MTECH 581-A Rev
003 Mobo  we be rocking and rolling.

Since my MB will only go to 66mhz X3 I am maxed out already. I'm also
not ready to get a new-fangled MB which will do 75-83mhz.

Thanks anyway. Your n2-3dfx batch file settings are about the same
as what I have BTW.

Such as? Unqualified, that's a pretty silly statement since it's
pretty hard to do anything wrong running a 3Dfx game (and since Greg
has detailed how he is running the game, from DOS).

Out of a dozen posts from Rendition users, yours is the first I've
seen that feels that way. So, this is more likely a difference of
perception than Greg "doing something wrong".

Knowledgable advice beats out condecension in all aspects. Please keep
trying.

That is why I never responded. Running 3dfx DOS games is like
boiling water, not many moving parts :-)
