Without addressing Mr. Frayne's actions, may I offer two tips for you?

1) When you log into a GPL server, use your real name. When you use a
pseudonym, like your "Very Sorry", it creates a suspicion amongst your
fellow drivers that your either dangerous or want to be able to drive
irresponsibly without being identified. Perhaps this contributed to Mr.
Frayne's problems with you.

2) It's not necessary or appropriate that you repeat the off-color remarks
here.

Yeah , I get really irritated by what people call them selves on
VROC. Clearly this makes you deserving of being rammed by other
drivers .You should always use your real name. Oh yeah , and include
your address and phone number.

So go and whip yourself, wash your mouth out with soap and say a
little prayer. Then, come back and join our puritan racing group.

Seriously VS , Frayne IS a pain in the ass. It's not just you.

From someone else who was wrecked by Mr Frayne in the SAME race, I can say
that  #1, VS is a VERY GOOD & CLEAN RACER! I race with him ALL of the time and
if he makes a mistake he acknowledges it. (and I know his real name too =-P)
and he is PRC...that says something for him.

AND if you had been taken out by Frayne (He took me out at the start) you too
might have some off color remarks to make about it. Frayne has the mentality
of a small child having a temper tantrum. When you are involved in an accident
you dont drive around and "hunt" for this person, you drive on and try to make
the best of your race, and surely you dont impede the rest of the drivers on
the circuit! I also got caught up in his shenanigans in Ascari, his actions
were completely unprofessional, things like this should not even happen in a
NOVICE race IMHO, save things like that for when you are racing alone at home.

Perhaps you missed my "Without addressing Mr. Frayne's actions..."

My post was not intended as an attack on Very Sorry, and *certainly* not a
defense of Mr. Frayne!

My first comment was based largely on Very Sorry's participation in the
"Nail That Track" Training Race Series.

While you may not agree, I stand by my second comment. Don't confuse mature
discretion with Puritanism

Francois, good to meet you! Certainly, no ill intent in my post...Just food
for thought.

No need to defend yourself, I didn't say that you had any ill intent, just
suggested that the pseudonym might raise some concerns.

Thanks. I can understand your being angry! Hope to see you at "Nail That
Track" again tonight. I think you and I had a nice little dice at Monaco
just Monday night. Nice drive!

Nope. I saw it. "Mr. Fayne's actions" were the subject of the
original post.

Fair enough. The only confusion is that your reply to VS sounded
(read) like patronizing "finger wagging" to me.  I wouldn't confuse
someones "plain speaking " with a lack of maturity.

I agree, the worst thing that anyone should ever do after getting taken out
is wait until the end of the race, THEN hit them. You feel just as good, and
the crash looks cool to others. Otherwise you can just retire, I have been
really pissed during a race, and retired because I knew I would be a threat
to others, so I just quit.
Just my 2 cents,

The name Pat Frayne rang a bell. Then I remembered- I think it was he
who I raced against at Monaco. He span on his own while chasing me, so
he decided to race around the track backwards and take me out. To be
honest, I couldn't have cared less, because I was only racing purely for
fun, and I joked, "Having Fun?"
"Yes" he replied.
"You'll never get it into the water, I've tried" I continued, before
leaving.
It didn't bother me, but it's not the kind of attitude VROC needs from
its racers.

Similarly, one N. Agee, at a Monza race the other night, decided to take
me out at the start, with him recovering quicker than me. When I caught
back up to him, I shook my fist, and he just swerved into me. I retired
voluntarily, and watched him for the rest of the race. There were some
very good racers, but he just kept spinning and parking in the centre of
the track in front of them. Could have spoilt a very good race...

Hello Fran?ois, Im Fran?ois ;)

The main problem is that this Pat Frayne can decide someday to go under a
fake name and have fun. There's no way to get an IP number, or kick him out
of a race.  He could even log under a personality of somebody else ( ex:
logging as Alison Hine and wrecking people).  It's a childish attitude, but
the client/server isn't really good at helping us neither.

Let's hope for a bigger span of options in the upcoming patch.

Hmmm, just as an aside here, but is this accepted protocol? I've never
seen a faq or request anywhere to use real names?

I have always used my e-mail handle "PJGTECH" and no-one has ever
mentioned it to me, or asked me to use my real name? (I also like to
think that as I've never/rarely upset anyone, and try to drive
sensibly, and possibly people recognise my handle from here? that
no-one objects to me using their server anyway)?

If it *is* the norm, then I'll be happy to change my GPL settings to
use my *real* name, but I don't see that it makes any real difference,
people who are acting as you describe will simply use a false *real*
name IYSWIM?

Just an opinion....

I can understand your concern on this.  Someone mentioned about full name,
address and phone number.  The Name I can completely understand, but the
address and phone is a bit overboard.  I am not sure who mentioned it, but
while you are at why not ask for Social Security number too.  Lets get a
bit more realistic.  And yes I use my real name when I play GPL.  I race a
lot with G Wilson, since he runs with a good group that is easygoing, but
still races hard.  That is really what is needed.
