N2 and Matrox Mystique

N2 and Matrox Mystique

I've just ordered myself a P166/motherboard combo, 32 megs of EDO RAM
and a 4meg Matrox Mystique VC.

Can anyone tell me what kind of performance the Mystique VC is worth?
I've heard a few pro's and con's, but nobody around here has one yet, so
I'm not sure how my N2 will run with it.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob,
I have a Mystique and can tell you what I've discerned from using it:

In N2, you won't be able to run rendition, but you may already know
this.  You won't need any VESA drivers, the card is already
VESA-compliant.  I run every track with 25 cars drawn ahead, three
behind with 25+ fps always, on my PPro-180.  So, you'll find it's plenty
quick, it just doesn't have the rendition chip.

God Bless,
Steve

Anyone with a Rendition chip will tell you that you made a huge mistake. I
have this card and I'm happy with it on my P-133. I run 12 cars drawn ahead
and grass/asphalt off at most tracks and have a very playable game, which
is good enough for me. Can't run the Rendition version, but then again,
when you're racing, there's no time for sightseeing.

I have a Matrox Mystique and it was a *** to install!!!
All you need to do is install N2 within DOS and run it in DOS and you
will be ok! I had bunches of freezeup problems in Win95! No problems
with my Thrustmaster and Mystique running in DOS
