Brands Hatch for GPL...

Sorry, no help to your problem! But another matter: The AI at BH is
a little restricted: often (=always?) the AI cars cannot pass slower
cars! Perhaps that is the reason BH is one of the few tracks, where
I have won an AI-race ;-)   (The few very banked non-AI ovals do not
count here!)

Has anybody even thought of remaking the AI of BH? (Dave, please,
I guess at least you _can_ make it!  :-)

Are you sure it _crashes_? When I was installing it, the install prog
was just very very very slow, slow enough to make it look like the
program had jammed entirely.

But another matter is that I've never managed to complete a lap there -
the game crashes just when I cross the finish line. :(

Works great for me, and there's been plenty of online racing at Brands. The
problem is at your end. I don't remember any fix for Brands.
From the read.me:

Unzip the files wherever you wish and then simply run Brands.exe.

Brands will prompt you for the GPL application directory. This is simply
the directory in which your GPL exe resides. The default is c:\sierra\gpl.
At most, you should only need to change the drive letter.

If the creation fails it is most likely that you have not set the GPL
application directory correctly. The other cause would be low disk space on
the Windows drive or on the drive containing GPL, because Brands requires
a large amount of disk space.

The installation process requires a lot of memory and drive space. How much
free space do you have? How much memory? Try freeing some space up and be sure
to have nothing running in the background when doing the install.

You can't install straight from the zip. First unzip (but not to TEMP), then
install from there.

Are you on a cable modem or something fast like one? I could setup a
place for you to download the directory, but you would have to do some
editing of the ini files.

You might want to try emptying your 'Windows/temp' directory.  Too much
data in there can cause probs with Dave's installer as well.
