Nascar 2003 - Hangups

Hi all !

I have been playing N2003 for a while now...
However : occasionally my PC just hangs...
I've seen similar messages of this problem before in this newsgroup and I've
tried all the suggestions...

I have an onboard sound-card but after adjusting the acceleration-slider in
dxdiag (I've tried all settings), there's no improvement...
I can play other games for hours, so i don't think cpu-temp has anything to
do with it...

My system :

AMD 1500+
Geforce 4400 Ti
384 MB RAM

Any suggestions are appreciated

Thx in advance

Franky

I have recently starting having my system suddenly reboot or the game simply
closes.  This only happens online I believe, will have to start documenting
this.  I had been able to run most graphics on high and had the default
sound setup.  Have been playing with these to try and improve framerate, of
course that would mean I was reducing settings.  Still, I have been running
the game for about a month and a half to this point, the hangs/reboots have
been for about three weeks I think.
My system:
Windows XP
AMD Duron 750
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400
288MB RAM
Sound Blaster 16bit standard sound card-onboard sound disabled

Generally for online *** I close/exit all but  McAfee firewall in the
systray
