HELP !!! NASCAR2 IPX Conection

by David W. Lo » Wed, 26 Feb 1997 04:00:00

Please HELP

I can successfuly connect Nascar over IPX thru Win95, but not when I
shutdown to Dos.

I currently load:

        LSL.COM
        CPQNF3.COM  ( Compaq Driver )
        IPXODI

Then Load Game

I "THINK" the prob may be in my NET.CFG file.  It reads

        Link Driver CPQNF3
                Frame Ethernet_802.3

Is this Correct ?????

If you can Help or if you can point me in the right direction  (ie..
Newsgroup or Web Page)  PLEASE !!!  Send e-mail with the info.

Thanks in Advance.

Well not sure this will help, but I use the following:

lsl
pciodi
ipxodi

I also went in and added the number of the card for the Ether ID in the
Net.cfg file.  This was needed if there was more than one card of the
same type.  I have included the net.cfg below.  Good luck.

LINK DRIVER PCIODI

#****************************************************************************
# Keyword 'ETHERID' is only required if more than one 8029 adapters
existed.
#****************************************************************************
# ETHERID 00A1020305DF

# NODE ADDRESS 00A10203044D
# Frame Ethernet_II
  Frame Ethernet_802.3
  EtherID = 004f4901164f
# Protocol IPX 0 Ethernet_802.3

If you can find an IPX.COM driver for your ethernet card, use it.
It takes less RAM and can be easier to configure.

However, here is my configuration for running the ODI stack with a
NE2000 compatible card at port 300 and IRQ 12.

If your LAN cards uses memory above 640K, do not load EMM386 in your
config.sys as a test.  You can place an exclude memory option
(X=D000-DFFF for example) in the EMM386 command after everything tests
out OK.

IPXODI.BAT:
