Sorry...Just wanted to see who was paying attention.  Really though,
I don't think it would be difficult to do, and I would be a blast to
race Nastrucks.  Also...anyone heard plans for Nascar 2.0.  I would
really like to see Daytona and Indy included in the game.

Thanx...

It would be cool, but I don't think they could do it as an add-on.
The Supertrucks don't race on many of the same circuits as the WC and
BGN cars do (if any).  So you'd need a complete set of tracks, along
with the mods to the simulation for the truck handling.  Also, a
number of the rules are different.

Indy and Daytona will never be added as long as Papyrus can't get past the
problem of not having rights to the tracks..... Until they can get past
that, we'll just have to dream about those tracks.....

Can someone clear this one up, I know that Sega holds the rights to
Daytona.  But what about Indy, I mean, Papyrus released it for ICR so
why can't they for Nascar.  I know it's a logical reason but I don't
know what it is. Anyone here know?

SuperTrucks have a halfway pit stop where they stop the race, and I've
noticed that the pit area is sometimes behind the wall on the outside of
the track.  I believe this is a result of the size of the tracks and the
fact that most places where SuperTrucks race looks like the same arena as
a rodeo.

While we're on the subject of add-ons and such.  Does anyone know if
Papyrus Nascar knows that the BGN cars are 500 pounds lighter than the WC
cars.  I haven't tried to drive a BGN car yet because I'm too busy with
IWCC3 but I was wondering if the program treats them the same, just with
different paintjobs and driver names.

I have been thinking about that too. If someone was really wanted to,
all they would have to do is create the paint schemes (like that is not
that much to do ;-) and then just paint the C pilar and part of the roof a shade of gray that
blends in with the track pavement.  Then you could go Supertruck racing

Ummm, I think the BGN cars are just re-painted Winston Cup Cars, as far as
NASCAR Racing game is concerned.  It would be nice to see a BGN add-on
package, complete with the missing BGN tracks (and race Winston Cup cars
there too!)...

Myrtle Beach, Hickory, South Boston, Miami, Nazareth, etc... drool...

It's not the rights to the track, it's the rights to the name of
"Brickyard 400" that get in the way.  They can model the track, just not
add the race.  Doesn't seem a whole lot different to me, but, to a lawyer...

May you cut down a tire and back into a wall at 180.
May your roof flaps not deploy.
May you pop a throttle spring at Sears Point.
May Mr. E***ment give you a Darlington Stripe...

Shall I go on?  (grin)

Me too.  Please buy Sega and sell it for parts, selling the exclusive
rights for Daytona to Papyrus.

They only had the rights to use it in ICR, not carte blanche whatever
they want. I don't know if they will have it in (or an addon for) ICR 2
or not, anyone know for sure?

Well, in the current game, not all races are identified by name anyway;
i.e., for Atlanta you see the logo for the Purolator 500, but at Watkins
Glen, you see just the track logo and not the nefarious "Bud at the
Glen."  So I don't see why the Brickyard 400 would have to be
specifically acknowledged to permit the inclusion of IMS.

You don't see Wallace's Miller Genuine Draft car for the same reason:
it's illegal to put tobacco/*** 'advertising' in computer games.  As
to the thing with the Brickyard the sponsors have claim on the name of
the race and would want some cash as well.  Which is the stalling point
for Papyrus to get the IMS.  The folks who own rights to it want too much.

HHHHHHMMMMMMM, I seem to have the Miller Genuine Draft car along with
the Bud car.  Must be that I have sooo many car sets that I got
illegal cars.  But no, really, it really stinks that we get shafted
like this.  I paid about $100 to get ICR with ALL the tracks (in three
boxes none the less).  It's just really sad what has to be gone
through just to get "a track" put in a game.  I really like an idea
that popped up awhile back about Papyrus "making" their own track that
resembled the layout of tracks such as Daytona & IMS but make it a
little different (grandstand layout, scenery & such) and call it
Papyrus speedway and make up a town to put it in.  I'm sure it is A
LOT more difficult than that but it sounds reasonable enough.  I know
I would buy it, heck I've already got so much invested with ICR &
Nascar why not get something new for the *ole* game.

<snip>

The owners of IMS and Daytona propably wouldn't like this idea.  I don't
know if it would cause any legal problems, but it could cause problems
in getting licences for future games.  I don't know how much influence
Daytona has over Nascar.  Cart propably doesn't care about IMS.
At least IRL Racing could be less likely to happen...
