Well, I went to my local EB again and they are still out of CPR.
Whats going on here, are people buying this game? I think that they
would have definitly sold more copies if it had Glide support out of the
box. I myself, returned it when I first bought the game because the D3D
sucked and after playing around with glide in the CPR demo, I definitly
would have 'not' returned it if the game ran like that initialy.

Enough rambling,(Damn coffee!) I was realy curious if everyone was
happy with there increases with the Glide patch in CPR? I just saw a
couple of seconds ago that The Apex is taking a poll on this performance
issue. I myself am very happy with the increses, even in the demo.

What is this patch doing for you folks that have the full version
of the game? Is it prevoking you to play more; )? I wish someone from MS
was reading our posts here on ras. Actually after thinking about it, I
wonder if Dean from MS is still roaming around in this ng? Calling
Dean........Hello?

 Tony,
the framerate is certainly better, but that in and of itself does not a
sim make. Don't waste your money. I kept my copy, reloaded the program and
ran it with the glide patch,  err, not patch but the way TRI wanted to
release it in the first place. Anyhow, it still stinks, now it just stinks
will running in glide rather than D3D. I think this time the delete is for
good, there are just too many quality products on the market right now to
fool around with CPR. Between N2 3dfx, F1RS, and a little SODA (not to
mention the new F-15 flight sim) once in awhile, that's plenty to keep me
busy until GPL hits in a couple of months. All the best, Mike

Mike,

My experience exactly! I reloaded CPR again because I was headed for Long Beach
this week and just wanted to run some laps. I did a full install, the latest
patch, the glide dll and some setups from APEX and tried it again. What a waste
of time. After running F1RS  for the last month, this thing was simply
laughable. I was lapping The Beach in the rain ( El Nino may make an appearance
tomorrow! ) and couldn't believe how bad the sound and graphics were. I loved
the solid grey clouds of spray that, when you catch up to them, have NO car as
their source about half the time! Switched  to F1RS, and started Monaco in the
rain, and could see thru the spray, see the glow from the single red tail
light, and make out enough detail to race the cars and make a safe passes. It's
too bad, I really want a good CART sim, but I'm afraid we'll have to wait a bit
longer.
