CPR Glide......looking for fix

by Tony Gaylor » Wed, 01 Apr 1998 04:00:00

Well, the patch that I U/L to Operation3dfx seems to work just
fine on my system. But, I am going to D/L the file and see if it is the
same file that I have because of all you folks not getting it to work.

I placed the file "triglide.dll" into my CPR folder
Then went to the the view option. Then select 'options'.
Select the "View" tab.
Then select "show all files shown" so you can see this damn thing : )

Now, you should see(2) .dll files in the CPR Folder
1)triglide.dll
2)trid3d.glide(D3D support here, duh)

Once you see the triglid.dll file in your CPR folder then choose the
Graphic option
Under the' Renderer ' box you should see "Voodoo Graphics(3dfx)"

Not saying that no one is having problems but this file was the most
simple one, in my opinion to install.
If anyone has anymore questions, drop me a line.........

BTW - I'll D/L the file know to see what this file is.......
Check back here soon.

CPR Glide......looking for fix

This is what I did. I deleted  the triglide file from my CPR folder and
started over.
Started up CPR and looked under Graphic options and saw 'No' option for the
3dfx.

I D/L the file from Operation, and its the exact same file that I have. I
then droped the .dll file directly into the CPR folder. Closed out and
started up CPR again. I went into the graphic options and there it was, I
didn't have to look for it, Voodoo Graphics(3dfx) was there in the window.
Started a race and we're in Glide baby!

Hope this helps!

Tony...don't know what happened, but the original file I downloaded
today am was TRIGLIDE.exe, not *.dll

I figured it out and renamed it.

After that the 3dfx option was available.

I have since downloaded it again, and it is correctly named *.dll

Thanks for the Glide patch. I stopped playing F1RS months ago because I
was tired of hassling with the menus. I like N2 with the 3Dfx patch but
this Glide patch for CPR was just the nudge to get me to play CPR again.
Through the help of a document at APEX (or was it the Unoffical CPR
page? Where's my Ginkgo Biloba) the steering is finally decent enough to
drive without bumping off the walls. It would have been great if the
replays in CPR were longer so you could look at an entire race through
the wonder of Glide but oh well. Once again, thanks for the patch; it's
very much appreciated. ;-)

Your absolutly more than welcome; ) I have been enjoying the patch as well
but, in the demo mode only. Beleive it or not, I bought CPR when it was first
shipped and returned it quicker than hell and have not seen the full game
running in Glide.

Just out of curiosity, what are EB's getting for CPR these days?

I don't know what EB is charging; I bought a used copy of CPR (with
manual) a few months ago from Interact for only $30. ;-) For sake of
reference, Interact was the only place in the US selling the UK version
of F1RS this past December. I purchased CPR because it was a bargain and
I thought at the time I'd soon be getting an Act Labs RS force-feedback
steering wheel. Here it is April and still no wheel. :( Act Labs is
supposed to be shipping them this month - and the check's in the mail,
right?

week when I was there. With the glide patch on my P233 64m
voodoo 2 I'm getting nearly double the frame rates.Just type in
the word "frames" while racing to see frame rate in lower right
corner.C YA

You can watch a longer replay.  In your System folder located in your CPR
folder look for CART.ini. Open this file and scroll to the end of the file
and you will find
[Instant Replay]
maxReplaySeconds=         set this to whatever you like. I use 3000.

Dont use to high of # as this will cause you to have disc writes as you run
out of ram saving the replay.
